Summary:

Donald Trump tries to becaome allies with the Philippines, Singapore, etc. to deal with the conflict with North Korea. The relationship between these countries seemed good. However, on Sunday, Trump’s chief of staff Reince Prebus said on U.S. television that the phone call should not be seen as support of Duterte’s record in his war on drugs: “It doesn’t mean that human rights don’t matter, but what it does mean is that the issues facing us developing out of North Korea are so serious that we need cooperation at some level with as many partners in the area as we can get.”

Philippine leader has faced criticism on human rights.

The president of Philippines has been strongly criticized for his war on drug trafficking.

Ban Ki-Moon is against this pact because it says that Duterte violates human rights. A clear example is the pre-trial executions of people accused of drug trafficking.

Some observers estimate that more than 6,000 people have been killed in Duerte’s war on drugs since he took office last year. Duterte, himself, told British media last year that he personally killed three suspects while he was mayor of the southern city of Davao. When the two president will meet, they will look for a solution for this serious problem.

The United States is in the process of gather  forces with the Asian countries to solve the problem with North Korea. The United States has warned Korea to stop throwing missiles. But Korea ignores him.

Opinion:

It is very sad that human rights are not being fulfilled in some parts of the world. I believe that human rights are fundamental to protect the dignity of people. For example, as the news says, in Philipines these basic rights are not fulfilled (but this happens to more parts of the world). In North Korea, these rights are not respected too. There, the people are totally controlled and there is no freedom of expression. And if someone goes against the dictator can suffer serious consequences.

On the other hand the conflict between USA and North Korea could explode in a third world war. In the wars nothing is respected, nor the basic human rights. I hope this conflict never happen. I also hope that one day, the human right will be respected around the world (although I think that it is impossible).
